How Nano Brows Differ from Microblading

Both techniques aim for a natural hair-stroke brow. The difference is the tool, and the tool changes how you work. Read the full comparison in Nano Brows vs Microblading.

PLATE 02 · MANUAL

Microblading

A hand-held blade cuts fine strokes into the skin. The artist controls depth and rhythm entirely by hand pressure, drawing each stroke in one movement.

PLATE 03 · MACHINE

Nano Brows

A fine single needle on a cosmetic tattoo machine deposits pigment stroke by stroke. The skill lies in hand speed, needle angle and steady travel along a mapped line.

Who This Course Is For

Nano brows suit beauty professionals starting out in cosmetic tattoo, as well as brow artists already trained in feathering or microblading who want to add a machine hair-stroke method.

If you are still weighing up techniques, Choosing a Brow Course sets the options side by side.

Techniques & Course Structure

Duration, training format and inclusions for upcoming intakes are confirmed with you directly when you enquire.

01

Mapping the Brow

Every nano brow starts on paper and skin with construction lines. See the Brow Mapping Guide for the principles.

02

Machine Set-Up & Control

Preparing the machine and needle, then building steady hand travel on practice surfaces.

03

Stroke Patterns

Layering fine strokes at the front, body and tail so the brow reads as natural hair.

04

Refining Your Work

Reviewing stroke spacing and consistency with trainer guidance, and planning your next stage of practice.

Trainers & Student Work

Our trainers teach nano brows as a drafting discipline: measure first, then build control, then refine. You work under close guidance so each correction is specific to your hand and your strokes. Meet the team and their teaching approach on Our Trainers.

Genuine results from our students are collected in the Student Work Gallery.

Nano Brows Questions

More answers on the Brow Course FAQ, or contact the academy.

Do I need microblading experience first?

Tell us your background when you enquire and we will help you decide whether to start here or with a foundation course such as the Eyebrow Feathering Course.

Is nano brows the same as powder brows?

No. Both use a machine, but nano brows create individual hair-strokes while powder brows build soft shading. Shading is taught in the Powder/Ombre Brows Course.

How long is the course and what is included?

Current duration, format and inclusions are confirmed for each intake. Send an enquiry and we will share the details that apply to you.
