Brow Course FAQ

Before you commit to a brow course, you need to know which technique fits you, whether you are ready for it and what enrolment involves. These answers cover all seven courses in the folio, from the Eyebrow Feathering Course through to Advanced Brow Training. If your question is about a specific course, the answer will point you to its page.

Choosing a technique

For a longer comparison, read Choosing a Brow Course.

What is the difference between feathering, microblading and nano brows?

All three create the look of individual hairs. Feathering and microblading build fine strokes by hand with a blade tool. Nano brows use a machine to place the strokes. The Eyebrow Feathering Course, Microblading Course and Nano Brows Course each set out what they teach.

Should I learn hair strokes or shading first?

It depends on the brows you want to create. Hair-stroke work suits a natural, textured finish. Shaded techniques build soft tone, which is covered in the Powder/Ombre Brows Course. The Combination Brows Course brings strokes and shading together.

Is there one course that covers eyebrow cosmetic tattoo more broadly?

Yes. The Cosmetic Tattoo Eyebrow Course takes a broader approach to eyebrow work. To see how the courses relate to each other, start at the Courses hub.

Experience and enrolment

IF YOU ARE STARTING OUT

Do I need beauty experience before enrolling?

Entry requirements vary between courses. Tell us your background when you enquire, and we will explain which course is a realistic place to begin. Becoming a Cosmetic Tattoo Artist explains what the path looks like.

How does enrolment work?

Start with an enquiry through the Enquire or Enrol page. We will confirm current course details, including fees, dates, duration and what is included, before you commit to anything.

IF YOU ALREADY PRACTISE

I already offer brows. Which course is right for me?

Working artists often add a new technique, such as shading alongside hair strokes, or refine the one they already offer through Advanced Brow Training. The Brow Artist Career Guide can help you plan your next step.

Can I ask about accreditation or certificates?

Yes. Ask about the specific course you are considering. We will give you its current details directly, so you can compare them properly.

Preparing for training and student work

What should I bring on training days?

What to bring and what is supplied are confirmed for your course once you enrol. It is worth arriving with questions and, if you already practise, photos of your recent brow work so your trainer can see where you are starting from. Our trainers can explain how they run practice.

Where can I see student work?

The Student Work Gallery is kept for genuine student submissions. Look closely at stroke direction, symmetry and how evenly the colour has healed.

Where does training take place?

See the Training Location page. If you are travelling, mention it in your enquiry.

Eyebrow and eyelash tools arranged on a white surface, including scissors, spoolie brushes, cosmetic brushes, tweezers, pigment, brow-mapping guides and false eyelashes.
